Drafting Tools in SeamScape
SeamScape offers a suite of intuitive tools for efficient pattern drafting. Key tools available in the toolbar include:
Pen Tool
The Pen Tool is your primary instrument for creating straight lines and freeform curves. Click to establish Path Points; click and drag to generate Bézier handles for smooth, controlled curvature.
Experiment with the Pen Tool: Select its icon, then click on the canvas to create points and construct paths.
Arc Tool
The Arc Tool is designed for precise creation of circular or elliptical arcs. Various modes allow arc definition by center-start-end points or by three points along the circumference.
Explore the Arc Tool: Select its icon and utilize on-screen prompts or tool options to define arcs.
Pattern Piece Tool (Trace)
The Pattern Piece Tool (often depicted with a 'trace' icon) enables the definition of closed shapes from existing paths, thereby creating pattern pieces. Sequentially click the paths that form the desired piece's boundary.
Utilize the Pattern Piece Tool: Select its icon, then click the paths (LineA0A1, LineA1A2, LineA2A0) in sequence to define the triangular piece.
Additional tools, such as the Modify/Select tool, facilitate the selection, movement, and editing of existing points, paths, and pieces.
